sensors
Definitions:
The devices that inform the control system about what is actually occurring are called sensors (also known as transducers). For example, we might measure fluid flow in a pipe with a flowmeter.
What is the difference between transducers and sensors?
-Sensors: convert a physical parameters into electrical signals.
Types of sensors:
• Flow sensors:
i) Pressure based flow sensor.
ii) Magnetic flow meters.
iii) Turbine flow sensor.
• Position sensors:
i) Analogue:
a) Potentiometers.
b) Linear variable differential transformer.
ii) Digital:
a) Optical rotary encoders.
3. Liquid sensors:
i) Discreet.
ii) Continues
4. Proximity sensors:
i) Limit switches.
ii) Optical proximity.
iii) Hall_Effectproximity.
4. Pressure sensors:
i) Bourdon Tubes.
ii) Bellows.
iii) Semiconductor pressure sensor.
5. Temperature sensors:
i) Bimetallic temperature sensor.
ii) Thermistors.
iii) Integrated circuit temperature sensors.
iv) Resistance temperature detectors
